Monday: Bellwork – Activity 13 Sequencing

                Take notes on Hard Fast Rules of Numbers – most of these rules pertain to formal writing – we will discuss and use in examples

                 Worksheet 40 – practice using numbers correctly within writing.

                 Read library books

 

Reading for Pleasure (RfP) – Read aloud Restart

                                               The class will read aloud as a group the story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Tuesday: Bellwork – Activity 14 Summarizing

               Take notes on Hard Fast Rules of Plural nouns- discuss how spelling can be corrected by just recognizing a few rules of spelling.  

               Worksheet 45 – practice using the given rules.

                Handout on Parts of Speech: keep in their binder after we go over.  This will aid us in our test on Friday covering parts of speech and capitalizations.  The test will be open notes.

 

RfP-  Read aloud to the class Restart

          Study Hall time:  each student needs to bring any unfinished work – make-up work or a book to read.  This will be time they can use to finish assignments.

Wednesday:  Bellwork – Activity 43 Author’s purpose

                     Worksheet 8/10 on capitalizations and parts of speech.  Use notes

                       Flocabulary lesson on Parts of Speech – complete all marked categories.  The rap will be completed with a partner.

Thursday:  Bellwork – Activity 44 Compare and contrast

                  Take notes on Hard Fast rules of commonly confused words.  – discuss homophones/homonyms

                   Worksheet 50 on using the words in the correct context

                    Study Island Lesson – Capitalization
